July 13, 2011 -- The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:
• Alma Patricia Villegas-Rodriguez, 38, 6251 Airport Road, was
arrested Tuesday at Super 8 Motel, 3425 Cerrillos Road, and charged
with disorderly conduct. Witnesses said Villegas-Rodriguez was angry,
and was kicking and yelling at a plastic bag in the parking lot.
There must be something about Super 8 hotels!

A naked woman in a hotel lobby is sure to draw a lot of attention. A naked woman with a gun, however, demands a lot of attention.
Patricia Wright, 32, of Fairfield, Calif., was arrested by police in Vacaville at about 3 a.m. on July 10 following a nude standoff at a Super 8 motel, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Officials say Wright entered the motel's lobby around 2:40 a.m. Sunday wearing no clothes but waving a gun -- a loaded .38-caliber semi-automatic to be exact.
Police say the clerk on duty called 911, and when officers arrived at the scene, they set up a perimeter around the motel lobby according to the Vacaville Reporter.
I guess I should have moved into that one in Carlsbad, NM when I had the chance.... Dave Brown and I went to Marfa a few years ago and stopped there on the way. (bad) Free breakfast, HBO, and wireless internet: $30/night. Cheaper than staying home. I thought I could spend my time making a massively high resolution photographic mural of the gutter along the main drag. Didn't realize that live entertainment was included.
